If a ring is stamped cz and 925 on the inside of it it is made of silver and what does the cz stand for? And does the amount of prongs matter on if a diamond is real? Does 6 prongs holding in a diamond mean that it’s real? Even though it’s stamped cz on inside?
Hi Jennifer,
Fake or real diamonds could be mounted in six prongs. Number of prongs holding a gem is not related to its authenticity. CZ most likely stands for cubic zirconia (not real diamond). 925 stands for the metal silver (atomic symbol Ag). The probably of this being real is extremely low. Sorry.
