This Question Is About:

F 1 14K

I have a family ring. On the inside of the ring it has stamped on it: F1 14K. It also has a square embossed inside the ring close to the crown. Does the F1 relate to the diamond clarification or is it just an artist design stamp.
Is it a common practice to stamp a classification or clarity score on the inside of a ring?

Thanks for your help.

Hi Sharon,

The F1 could be a color grade or a manufacturer’s stamp. Since no clarity grade was found with the color, my guess it is more likely a manufacturer’s stamp. Clarity and color stamping on rings are not common.
