5) La Crusetta

I have been with my boyfriend for 3 years.
We first met at what was my summer job and his regular job. We
spent 3 years 2 hrs. away while I went to school and he worked
at home. Edwin is originally from Puerto Rico and we have been
wanting to go there, but never had the money to do it.

Finally,
this year I told him were going no matter what. He was all for
it, but as summer came closer he started to say that he didn’t
think he could afford it. I just wouldn’t listen. If we weren’t
going now, we were never going to have the money, so we got the
plane tickets.

July 17th was the day we left for PR. I was very
scared because it was my first time flying. Once we got there,
I felt very out of place because I can not speak spanish nor do
I completely understand it. Edwin helped me out the whole time
we were there, while I grew closer to him.

One of the places we
wanted to go see was a place called “La Crusetta” This place is
up high in the city and over looks the city Ponce. There is a big
cross you can climb up and a big beautiful castle to tour. Unfortunately
when we got there both places were closed, but the view was breath
taking. I was not expecting what was about to come. Edwins little
brother ran away.

As I was questioning this, Edwin turned me toward
him and got down on one knee. I knew what was coming, I have
been waiting for it for so long. I immediately started to cry,
and that
is when he proposed.

It was the perfect place for the perfect
proposal. I then knew why he couldn’t really afford to go to
Puerto Rico,
but he always finds a way to make me happy!
