I met my future husband in October 1989. We dated for awhile but I was not exactly thrilled by him as a suitor. In fact I was a little frightened by his aggressive dating style and I was a little put off by his persistance. He often came to my job or to my house without calling first. When we did talk on the phone he was very persistant in wanting to see me after I had worked my second shift job. All I wanted to do was go home take a shower and chill out listening to music in front of my fireplace. One day after we had been dating for a month, he offered to prepare a Thanksgiving Day dinner for me with all the trimmings. I did not believe a man could cook an entire dinner and told him I wanted to watch him prepare the dinner. It was a wonderful meal! He asked me to marry him while we ate the meal he had prepared. I was reluntant to vioce my uneasiness with his proposal and told him we needed to wait six months. We dated for five more months where I saw more of his cooking skills and turnedc down several more proposals from James. Finally frustrated with my turndowns to his proposals, James asked me to come to his house for a steak dinner. he cooked a thick Porterhouse steak, Baked potatoes and a salad. The steak was so tender and seasoned to perfection that I ate like a greedy little pig. Full and highly satisfied after dinner, James asked me to marry him again and I said yes! We were married in October 1991 and are still married today, sixteen years later.
