My then boyfriend had accepted a job offer in another country so we were having a long distance romance. After about 6 months of this while talking on the telephone he came out and said that I didn’t sound very excited about moving closer to be with him. My reply was that I did not want to move so far from family, friends and job just to live together. His reponse was "Don’t you know that I want to marry you?" I replied "No, I didn’t know" When I finally got to see him in person for a weekend, we went ring shopping and he put a ring on layaway and I returned home. Months past (we are still long distance) and we are about one week before our wedding he calls to tell me that he might not have the ring in time for the wedding. I fight back the tears and tell him that’s OK (I had been without it this long) the important thing is that we are getting married. My fiance flies in two days before the wedding and the night before we are to get married he drops to one knee and says"If you are not doing anything tomorrow Will you marry me?" and presents me with my engagement ring. Of course I cried and said "Yes" After a four day honeymoon he went back home and I was able to join him 6 months later to start our married life.
