A group, in a massachsetts chat room, talked of meeting at a pub in Taunton to watch the Patriot’s season opener. I decided to go.
When I arrived, Debbie, who I had chatted with but not met, was talking to the bartender. Others started arriving and taking seats around the tables; I sat next to Debbie. We made introductions, ordered food and talked while awaiting the start of the game. The Pats lost; everything else was great.
We continued meeting for the games. In October, a friend, at karaoke, sold me two tickets he was unable to use for the Tim McGraw concert at Mohegan Sun. I called Debbie and asked her to go…it was our first date.
Things progressed…we got to know each other’s families and friends. I had marriage in mind, but wasnt sure when I should ask Debbie.
I sing at karaoke, "Feels So Right" by Alabama. On the night of January 13th, (Debbie’s daughter Toni’s birthday)when we got home I put on the Alabama CD. "Feels So Right" started and we danced around the kitchen…I sang along. The last line is "Ah, you feel so right baby." Instead, I said "Will you marry me?" Debbie, amazed, said "Are you serious?" She realized I was, and said yes. We were married July 1st 2004 in Las Vegas.
