3) A (Pop-up) Storybook Ending

My fiance and I had spent the last 5 months over 800 miles apart. We had never been apart for that long, and the days were beginning to drag. I opened up my email one day to find an invitation for a romantic weekend getaway in Galena, Illinois. Of course I was going to meet him there! He wouldn’t tell me where I was going, but he guided me into town via cell phones, and I met him outside of an old looking building. He escorted me up an iron staircase past gargoyles and a dungeon looking room that read Hot Tub. When we got to our room the lights were dimmed, and the place was surrounded in candlelight. Frank Sinatra was playing in the background, our favorite. The room was gorgeous filled with Victorian furnishings, flowers, and a winding staircase that went up to the lofted bedroom. The fireplace had a beautiful fire, and the bathroom was equipped with a large hot tub. He had champagne chilling and strawberries as well. He pulled out an album for me to look through.
As I looked through the pages I saw pictures of us that we had taken at various times since we had been together. Under each picture were words of the story of our relationship. It was a pop-up book! In the words of the story he asked me to pick a door to find my destiny, and inside the book was the most beautiful engagement ring I had ever laid eyes on. Of course I said yes. Later that night we went to a nice restaurant where a romantic table was waiting for us. We spent the rest of the weekend falling in love all over again! Before we left our room, we wrote of our unforgetable time in a journal that was left in the room for guests to read and add to. We find out that the room had been just as magical for a few other couples who had gotten engaged there as well.
