1) Swept Off My Feet

My friend Amber was in town and we had spent the night at my grandmothers house the night before. As I peacefully slept in my bed I woke up to a mans whisper and dark silhouette standing in the doorway. It was at that moment I truly thought I was about to be murdered. But soon Jason switched on the light, told me to get up, and said I had 30 minutes to get ready. After a quick shower and breakfast Jason and I got in the car to go on a trip. He made me put on some sunglasses he had painted black so I couldnt see where we were going. Once we arrived to our first destination he also made me put on headphones so I couldnt hear anything.

Well, it turns out we ended up at the airport. And yes, he still made me walk around with the sunglasses and headphones so Im sure people thought I was blind. I always said I wanted to get proposed to on a beach so I knew we were going somewhere that had beaches. We ended up landing in Florida!!! After we arrived we got in a rental car, drove for an hour, and stopped at a Subway for lunch. As we were walking back to the car after lunch, Jason told me to change into this dress he had bought me the week before. So I went back into Subway and when I came out he had changed as well. We drove for about 10 more minutes and I once again was told to put my blindfold back on.

We pulled into a parking lot and I could tell the beach was in front of us. He helped me out of the car and led me down the beach holding my hand. Finally we stopped and he let me take the blindfold off. There we stood on the shore and Jason just hugged me. Traci, I wrote you something, he said as he pulled out a small Bible I had given him. From the Bible he pulled out a letter he had written me. He read it aloud and then opened the Bible and read a passage to me from Ecclesiastes 4:9-12

Two are better off than one, for they can help each other grow. If one falls, the other can reach out and help. But those who fall alone are in real trouble. Likewise, two lying close together can keep each other warm. But how can one be warm alone? A person standing alone can be attacked and defeated but two can defend themselves. Three are even better, for a triple-braided cord is not easily broken.

After he was finished he said, Traci, will you complete my cord and be my wife in Christ?, and proceeded to get on his knee. When he went to pull the ring from his back pocket it got stuck! When the box was finally freed from his pocket, he opened it up and held it out. The ring was so beautiful but all I could think of was hugging him! It was the most special moment of my life.

I was supposed to work the following morning in college station, but he had already been slyly working with my boss behind my back and got me off work! His grandfather lived 10 minutes away, so we stayed there and flew back the following day (almost missing our flight). But of course Jason still had one more thing up his sleeve. On the way home from the airport, he drove me to a restaurant where all our friends and family were waiting. He had been planning it for weeks!

Well, I would have to say, yes, this was a fairytale come true, and my prince definitely swept me off my feet.
