What does my engraving mean?

Topic: Other

Q

I found my ring in a box full of jewellery at a school fair around seven years ago. Recently I noticed it had been engraved with (18KH.G.E and then an A in a circle). It is a silvery colour and has 16 white colored stones and 8 small and one larger blue coloured stones which appear to be real by following your tests. It is in four layers of stones and is smilar to a flower. What do you think the engraving means and do you think it is worth anything.

Hi Becki,

The G.E. stands for gold electroplate which means the ring was platted in 18 karat gold. Although possible that they used real stones on a platted ring, most likely they did not.
