Commercial Grade vs Non-commercial Grade

Q

What does commercial diamond mean? What is the difference between commercial and noncommercial?

A

Hi Thomas,

Commercial grade is synonymous to not good (crummy) quality diamonds. Here are the basic criteria for non-commercial grade (good quality): face-up white, eye-clean, Class I or Class II cut, faint/no fluorescence, 100% natural, and cut from a full-term rough. Anything that does not meet ALL these parameters is considered commercial grade.
